Hello there everyone, and welcome to my new blog! As you can see, I finally decided to move over to WordPress after several months of not quite being able to be bothered. There’ll be no change in content to match the change of venue – but never mind, you can read the same old stuff in a shiny new format. I bet you’re pleased.
Oh yes, the title. I’m in my second year now of an MA in International Labour and Trade Union Studies at Ruskin College, an impeccably working-class institution, so despite my Oxford law degree, predilection for port and expensive cheese and irremediably bourgeois tones (“I love your accent!” – comrade from Class War) I think I can consider myself an Honorary Proletarian. So it’s sort of self-assertive and self-mocking at the same time, quite typical of me actually.
Central Oxford is awaking again after its holiday slumber, as all the disturbingly young people move back from a variety of strange and faraway places, like Yorkshire. Even the weather is being remarkably decent, and having just spent a few days in London I even find the pubs resonably priced (an illusion that will soon wear off). I’m looking forward to lots of jolly political fun like doing Living Wage stuff outside Uni libraries in the freezing cold, stamping round the City in the freezing cold and protesting outside Campsfield in the freezing cold. It may be winter outside, but it’s springtime in my heart.
Enough of this moaning! Welcome everyone, welcome to my new blog, and all who sail in her, etc. etc. Enjoy!
It seems everyone is leaving blogger in droves, what’s better about WordPress?

Blogger keeps breaking, I’m fed up with it. Besides, I’m told I can do more things with a WordPress blog. Someone will have to explain this to me because I have no idea about this internet thingy. Volty?
